Each teacher has his or her high school diploma and certificate in Early Childhood Education, a college degree in education, or equivalent experience. Classes in continuing education are required each year. State licensing requires that each teacher be certified annually by a practicing physician to be free from any disability that would prevent him/her from caring for children.
A monthly newsletter as well as memos keep parents informed regarding preschool activities such as monthly themes, special events, special guests, and field trips. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend and participate in all special school activities. Parent-Teacher conferences are held in January and special conferences may be scheduled with the director or teacher anytime.
Registration and Enrollment
To be eligible for enrollment, each child must be the required age by September 30th of that school year. Each child in the 3 and 4 year old classrooms is also expected to independently perform bathroom and toileting duties. Attendance and membership at Grace Church is not a requirement to enroll your child in the preschool, however you are more than welcome to worship here.
The goal of the preschool is to offer the best program at a very competitive cost. A non-refundable registration fee is used to cover administrative costs and insures student placement. Tuition is paid monthly and is due on the 1st of each month. .
School and Facilities
The education wing contains four classrooms totaling over 3000 square feet. These classrooms are bright and spacious and are equipped with their own restrooms. Large bulletin boards display projects, students’ work, and current theme material. All students have their own place in the classroom to store personal items. The fenced in play yard is located adjacent to the educational wing of the church and meets all safety standards. The preschool uses the church facilities as needed. The Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall provide us with space to accommodate large gatherings.
Grace Preschool invites special visitors throughout the year such as firemen, policemen, and dental hygienists. These visitors along with our varied field trips compliment the educational theme and help teach through hands-on interaction.
